Paycheck Calculator by State 2026

Enter your salary and see exactly how much you take home after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and your state’s income tax — broken down per paycheck at any pay frequency.

How the paycheck calculator works

Each calculator uses the IRS Publication 15-T percentage method to estimate federal income tax withholding on your annualized salary. It then adds the employee share of FICA (Social Security 6.2% up to the 2026 wage base of $184,500, plus Medicare 1.45%), and your state’s income tax at the verified 2026 rate.

You can enter pre-tax deductions (traditional 401(k), HSA, health premiums) to see how they reduce your taxable income and your paycheck withholding. Results update instantly and are broken out visually by component.

What this calculator does not include

Local income taxes (New York City, Maryland county, Ohio municipal, Pennsylvania local EIT) and state disability / paid-family-leave premiums (CA SDI, NJ SDI/FLI, NY SDI/PFML) are outside the scope of this tool. These vary by municipality and are best confirmed with your payroll department. The result is an estimate for planning purposes only — your actual withholding depends on your W-4 elections, employer-specific payroll processing, and any credits or adjustments you have.
